Die Kupplung ist die trennbare Verbindung zwischen Motor und Getriebe. Sie hat die Aufgabe den Drehmoment des Motors an das Getriebe zu übertragen. Der Kupplungsscheiben Aufbau
In der Regel wird bei nahezu allen PKW eine Einscheiben-Trockenkupplung verbaut. Diese besteht aus Schwungrad, Druckplatte und der dazwischen liegenden Mitnehmerscheibe. Die Mitnehmerscheibe hat ihren Namen daher, dass sie bei gelöstem Kupplungspedal von dem Druck der zusammengeführten äußeren Komponenten "mitgenommen" wird, und sich dreht.
